UNITED STATES – As Thanksgiving approaches, airports and highways across the country are gearing up for a surge in travelers.

Transportation authorities announced that airlines are back to normal operations following a recent shutdown. This comes just in time for the expected increase in travel.

AAA projects that nearly 82 million people will journey 50 miles or more between Tuesday and December 1. Of these, at least 73 million are expected to drive on the roads.

AAA issued a warning regarding travel times. The worst times to drive are projected to be Tuesday from noon to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
