The fire started in the Northtown neighborhood at the 500 block of E North Ave around 12:30 p.m., according to the Spokane Fire Department (SFD).
The fire reportedly began in a back alley, quickly igniting a brush fire that spread to a large tree, creating an “ember shower”.
These embers led to fires in numerous structures, including two sheds, a garage, a shop, the attic of a house, and several fences.
The Spokane Police Department is on the scene conducting an investigation into the cause of the fire. SFD stated that the damage in the area is “considerable.”
