The Spokane County medical examiner identified the victim at 65-year-old Steven Elrod. The cause and manner of his death are still pending.

Spokane Valley Major Crime Detectives are now treating the man’s death as a homicide, police said in an updated release.
Detectives have not released the man’s name but they’re asking for help with information on his whereabouts from April to May 4, 2025.
They’re also seeking information about the RV or anyone associated with it from May 4 to May 6, 2025, around E. Broadway and I-90.

The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the victim’s name and cause of death at a later date, police said.
SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – Spokane Valley Major Crime Detectives are looking into the death of a man found inside a motorhome on Tuesday.
At around noon, Spokane Valley Deputies received a call reported finding a body in a parked RV in the 6500 block of East Broadway Avenue.
Upon arrival and finding the body, deputies secured the area and contacted Major Crime Detectives.
Detectives and the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Forensic Unit arrived to search for evidence, making use of a K9 unit, SAR and traffic investigators to process the area.
Detectives are currently working to determine what led up to the suspicious death and the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the man’s name and his cause of death at a later time.
