
RENO, Nev. – Dakota Hocker, the man suspected of a mass shooting at a Reno casino, has died following a shootout with police.
Hocker was accused of killing three people and injuring several others in the incident. The confrontation occurred last Thursday when officers responded to the scene.
Reno Police Department officers arrived within three minutes of the first call. They quickly made contact with Hocker and took him down, police stated.
Authorities revealed that Hocker had illegally purchased the gun used in the shooting several years ago. They also noted that he had no prior criminal or mental health history.
A total of six officers were involved in the shooting. They have been placed on routine administrative leave as the investigation continues.
