In a press release, the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) reported that the active shooter at the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office was first reported at 2:40 p.m. on Friday afternoon.
After multiple law enforcement agencies responded, the suspect was neutralized by 5 p.m. KCSO stated that there is no ongoing danger to the community.
Despite there being no active threat, the public is urged to avoid the downtown area, as the investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
More information will be shared at the press conference scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Sheriff Bob Norris confirmed that the suspect is dead at the scene.
Two victims of the shooting have reportedly taken themselves to the hospital, however, further information about their condition is currently unknown.

The suspect’s condition is currently unknown, and no other victims besides the suspect have been confirmed.

It has been confirmed that police are currently responding to an active shooter, with units forming a perimeter near the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office.
The Mineral County Sheriff’s Office announced that they are sending reinforcements to Wallace to assist at the scene, urging members of the public to avoid the downtown area if possible.
According to the Idaho Transportation Department, the ramp from Interstate 90 eastbound to Exit 62 near Wallace has been blocked as law enforcement response continues.
