SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. – Spokane County Sheriff’s Office arrested a suspect for drug possession and reckless burning in the Wandermere area.
The incident occurred early Sunday night when a brush fire ignited near the 500 block of East Hastings Road. As fire crews worked to extinguish the flames, sheriff’s deputies conducted an investigation at the scene.
During their investigation, deputies arrested 55-year-old Thomas Jones. A search revealed he had a can of butane, a torch, a lighter, and drug paraphernalia.
Jones was taken to jail but was released shortly after reaching an agreement approved by the municipal court.
