SANTA CLARA, Calif. — As Super Bowl 60 approaches, officials have intensified security measures both inside and outside Levi’s Stadium. Federal and local authorities are utilizing aerial, ground and water surveillance to ensure safety.

While no credible security threats have been identified, the event is classified as a SEAR 1 event by the Department of Homeland Security, demanding extensive federal support and coordination.

“Our goal is the safety and security of the personnel,” officials said.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is notably absent from the event, which the NFL confirms.

“There are no known, no planned ICE or immigration enforcement operations that are scheduled around the Super Bowl or any of the Super Bowl related events,” officials said.

In the lead-up to the game, anti-ICE posters have appeared around San Francisco, featuring the Puerto Rican Sapo Concho image associated with performer Bad Bunny, who is set for the halftime show. Bad Bunny’s selection has drawn criticism, including from President Donald Trump.

President Trump expressed his surprise, “I never heard of him. I don’t know who he is. I don’t know why they’re doing it. It’s like crazy,” he said.

The Trump administration’s immigration policies have triggered protests nationwide, including a recent demonstration in San Francisco.
