PULLMAN, Wash. – The Pullman community is working together to recover from a storm that caused power outages, downed trees and disrupted city services across the Palouse.
The Pullman Police and Fire Departments, along with Whitcom 9-1-1, responded swiftly to emergencies involving downed powerlines and blocked roads. Pullman Public Works and Pullman Parks & Facilities have been clearing debris and fixing damaged infrastructure.
Avista and other local services, including tree and landscape businesses, have been assisting in the recovery efforts. Pullman residents are encouraged to check on neighbors and help move debris away from curbs and storm drains.
Mayor Francis Benjamin advised residents to prepare for another weather system expected early Thursday morning, which may bring up to an inch of snow followed by rain, raising concerns of localized flooding.
Residents should avoid entering pooled water and report any issues to the Pullman Police Department’s non-emergency line at (509) 332-2521 or contact Pullman Public Works online
