Stevens Pass sees heavy snowfall, traction tires required

SKYKOMISH, Wash. – Good news for skiers, heavy snowfall has returned to Stevens Pass. Sky cameras show lifts running and plenty of powder down the slopes.

For those traveling through the area Tuesday, the weather conditions bring a different story.

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is requiring all westbound travelers Tuesday to have traction tires over Snoqualmie Pass. While it’s not required for eastbound traffic, traction tires are still recommended by WSDOT.
