STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. – Stevens County Fire District 1 had its busiest month on record this July. Crews responded to 239 calls, surpassing their previous high of 217 calls in July 2021.
The calls were not only for wildfires. The fire district also dealt with auto accidents, medical emergencies and provided mutual aid to nearby districts.
June also saw a high number of calls, with a total of 178, marking another record-setting month for the district.
