SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – Spokane Valley Tech is hosting a STEM camp that benefits both high schoolers and younger students. The camp is held twice a year and serves as a fundraiser for student organizations focused on leadership development.
High school students plan and lead activities for younger students, offering hands-on experiences in STEM fields.
Ashley Loncon, a teacher at Spokane Valley Tech, shared her insights on the initiative.
“Our students are leading the activities that these first through 8th graders are doing. It’s a win-win. Our students are getting leadership skills, getting funds for our fundraiser, and then our campers just get to have a really cool opportunity to experience STEM,” Loncon said.
Anyone interested in future STEM camps should check out future announcements on the Spokane Valley Tech website.
