Despite this closure, the 988 Lifeline will continue to provide critical support to individuals in crisis, the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) said in a release.

The DOH emphasized its commitment to supporting all individuals, particularly LGBTQIA2S+ youth. The agency said it’s actively collaborating with other states to explore alternative specialized services for this demographic.
