SPOKANE, Wash. – A stabbing near Mobius Discovery Center and City Hall has left residents in shock. Rachel, who knows the area well, expressed her concerns about the incident.
“Yeah, it is concerning. It’s right in front of, you know, Mobius and City Hall,” she said.
The location is known for its heavy foot traffic, which adds to the alarm for those who frequent the area.
“There’s a lot of foot traffic that comes through this area. So it’s something that’s alarming. As someone who walks through a park every single day,” Rachel added.
The incident has left a lasting impact on those who use the park regularly.
“Just kind of, like, kind of shocked. I’m kind of surprised,” said one local.
They noted the unusual nature of the event, stating, “It’s interesting that it happened in the midst of a mid-morning on a nice sunny day where everyone’s kind of enjoying the park.”
Police received the call just before 10:30 a.m. The victim, according to police, walked up the stairwell between the City Council office and Mobius Discovery Center, a children’s museum, where they were found on the lawn.
An eyewitness recounted the scene, saying, “Saw like the ambulance go over there and I was like, Whoa, what’s going on? And so I went over there and I saw what happened. And there was a guy like I put him on a stretcher.”
The victim was taken to a local hospital, but the suspects remain unknown at this time. Police continue to investigate the incident.
