Spring break camps offer solution for parents seeking activities for kids

SPOKANE, Wash. — Spring break starts for most Washington public schools this week, prompting many parents to ask the familiar question: What will we do with the kids?

Local spring break camps provide an answer for families seeking structured activities during the school hiatus.

The Hub Sports Center is offering Operation Spring Break, a three-day camp running April 6 through April 8. The program targets children ages 6 to 11 and costs $50 per day or $125 for the complete session. Scholarships are available for families who need financial assistance.

“It is just giving them another opportunity to connect, use their own imagination kinda[sic] create whatever they want and just have fun with other kids,” said Shea-Lynn Gerred, program coordinator at Hub Sports Center.

The camp features themed activities each day, including Superhero Day, Spy School and Roadblox. The energy-packed program aims to keep children engaged through creative play and social interaction.

Spots remain available for interested families. You can sign up here.
