Spokane police said the victim of a car-versus-pedestrian crash has died and charges against the suspect will be upgraded.
According to a Spokane Police Department spokesperson, the woman died from her injuries. Police are now working to upgrade charges against the teenage suspect.

A juvenile suspect is in custody for multiple charges after Spokane police were able to find the driver of the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run.
After responding to the call about the car versus pedestrian crash at 5:30 a.m., officers were advised through another 911 call that the driver had ran away from the crash on foot, leaving the car and another passenger behind.
The pedestrian victim was found in the roadway and is currently at a local hospital in critical condition.
Community members helped update officers on the direction of the suspect who had run away on foot.
Officers eventually found someone matching the suspect description running near 195 and Eagle Ridge. The suspect was a 17-year-old male without shoes.
Officers determined that their suspect was the driver of the car involved with the hit-and-run and detained him. He has now been taken into custody for vehicular assault, felony hit-and-run and DUI.
The passenger in the vehicle was also a juvenile and is being treated for minor injuries.
SPOKANE, Wash. – A crash at the intersection of 49th Avenue and Perry Street on South Hill sent three people to the hospital. According to the Spokane Police Department, an adult woman is in critical condition after being hit by a car.
Two juveniles in the car were also hospitalized. The crash caused the car to hit a tree, and the intersection is closed from 49th to 46th on Perry.
The crash occurred around 5:30 a.m. The juvenile driver fled on foot but was quickly taken into custody. Police suspect the driver may have been intoxicated, though the investigation is ongoing.
A tow truck is en route to clear the vehicle, and the intersection will reopen once the car is removed. Further updates will be available through NonStop Local and the NonStop Local app.
