
SPOKANE, Wash – Spokane Sheriff John Nowels announced Wednesday, he’s running for re-election.
Sheriff Nowels was elected to the position in November 2022, taking over the office the following January.
He won that election by more than 34,000 votes.
“Public safety requires leadership that is steady, experienced, and focused on results,” said Nowels in the news release announcing his campaign. “Every decision I make as Sheriff is guided by one question: Does this make our community safer? I am proud of the progress we’ve made, and I am committed to continuing that work for the people of Spokane County.”
Sheriff Nowels will be on the ballot in November.
Candidates can officially file their intent to run starting May 4th.
No one else has yet announced their intention to run for this office.
