
SPOKANE, Wash. – on South Hill claimed the life of a notable member of Spokane’s medical community.
The Spokane County Medical Examiner identified the victim as Sarah Doxey, 48, from Spokane. Doxey was struck by a teenage driver during her morning run.
Doxey played a vital role in CHAS Health, serving as the Chief Operating Officer after initially holding the position of Vice President of Operations.
In a statement, CHAS Health expressed their sorrow: “CHAS Health is shocked and grieving the tragic passing of our Chief Operating Officer Sarah Doxey. Sarah was a key member of our Leadership Team, and her wisdom, kindness, and professional contributions will be greatly missed. We appreciate your understanding during this difficult time.”
Doxey’s commitment to Spokane’s health sector was evident throughout her career. She earned her Master’s Degree from Gonzaga University in 2008 and worked with local health organizations, including Cancer Care Northwest, Spokane Eye Clinic, and Providence.
On Thursday morning, members of the shifted their route to where Doxey was struck and made a small memorial in her honor.
