SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane native Justice Colleen Melody has been sworn in as the 100th Justice of the Washington State Supreme Court.
Justice Melody, a University of Washington Law alumna and Ferris High School graduate, was by Governor Ferguson last November.
Melody is known for her leadership in the Attorney General’s Office, where she headed the Wing Luke Civil Rights Division since its creation in 2015.
Her appointment follows the retirement of Justice Yu at the end of the year.
