SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – Firefighters rescued an injured hiker from Antoine Peak over the weekend.
The hiker had sustained an ankle injury and couldn’t walk, the Spokane Valley Fire Department (SVFD) shared on social media.
The hiker and their companion were found due to the help of a cell phone, a whistle and a drone, according to SVFD.
“If you’re heading out to hike in our region’s beautiful natural areas, make sure you know the terrain, be ready for changing conditions, and let someone know your location and when you plan to return,” the department wrote on social media.
