
SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – The Spokane Valley Fire Department is promoting community safety with a special initiative.
Free yard signs are available at all 10 Spokane Valley Fire Department fire stations and their administration building on Wilbur Road.
These signs are intended to remind residents to prioritize safety during the holiday.
Consumer fireworks, including sparklers, firecrackers, and Roman candles, are legal year-round in Spokane, Spokane Valley and surrounding areas.
Residents are encouraged to adhere to city codes related to fireworks.
Since 1993, there has been a decline in firework-related injuries and fires, according to the Spokane Valley Fire Department.
Spokane Valley Police Department will have two patrol officers working overtime specifically to address fireworks-related incidents.
