Spokane Valley chase ends with a crash into homeowner’s yard

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – An attempt to outdrive law enforcement in Spokane Valley ended when the fleeing car crashed into a chain link fence and ended up in a homeowner’s front yard.

Washington State Patrol said the crash happened just before midnight on Tuesday. The driver was speeding away from them, going west on Mission. They later reported that the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The fleeing car attempted to turn right and hit the fence, coming to a stop in the yard of a house on Willow and Mission, Washington State Patrol said.

Washington State Patrol said the driver was an 18-year-old from Coeur d’Alene. He was injured in the crash and troopers brought him to Deaconess Hospital.

He was charged with DUI, reckless driving, felony eluding, hit and run and resisting arrest.
