SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – The joint Spokane Valley Fire Department and City of Spokane Fire Department swift water rescue team has returned home after being deployed to Skagit County to assist with flood rescues.
The team spent eight days in western Washington, supporting dozens of communities affected by the floods. According to reports from Seattle NPR station KUOW, the area experienced a significant amount of rainfall, with at least three Lake Washington’s worth of rain falling during the wet weather.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to the first responders in our area for their readiness to assist communities across the region and the world.
