Spokane Transit Authority tackles bridge concerns with humor

SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane Transit Authority (STA) has released a video to promote their new double-decker buses.

The video humorously addresses concerns from residents about whether these buses can fit under Spokane’s infamous downtown bridges.

The video features a man worried that the buses might get stuck under the bridges, a scenario Spokanites are familiar with.

In 2023, a driver got stuck under the underpass near Helena and Riverside while searching for gas. Fortunately, the driver was unharmed.

Similarly, in 2019, a larger vehicle got stuck under the Stephen Street Railroad overpass, blocking the roadway until Spokane police and crews freed the vehicle.

STA assures that their double-decker buses will not face these issues. They even created a movie trailer-style video inspired by action films to promote the buses.

The double-decker buses are slated for release this September.
