SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane city officials are considering a proposal to establish “immigration enforcement free zones” on city-owned properties.

The ordinance, titled “Immigration Enforcement Free Zones,” is being supported by Spokane City Council members Paul Dillon, Kate Telis and Sarah Dixit.

If approved, supporters of the ordinance say it would restrict immigration officers from conducting activities without warrants on city-owned properties.

The Spokane City Council is scheduled to discuss the ordinance Monday night.
