
SPOKANE, Wash. – The Disability Action Center NEW (DAC NEW) will host the Bridging Community Celebration at Riverfront Park on July 26 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The event will mark the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
“July 26th is the 35th anniversary of the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA),” said Mark Leeper, Executive Director of Disability Action Center NW. “Disability is present in every culture and every economic background. We want to celebrate the many cultures in our area and how they intersect with disability.”
The event will feature multicultural dance presentations, music from River Street Latin Band and a speech from Mayor Lisa Brown.
Visitors can enjoy free food, t-shirts, and participate in a Resource Fair with over 20 vendors.
A World Market will offer cultural crafts, and a Kid’s Zone will provide games and activities.
The event is open to the public and aims to celebrate diversity and inclusion.
