Spokane schools change laptop policy to save on costs

SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane Public Schools is shifting its approach to providing laptops to students. Instead of issuing laptops to every student, the district will now allow students to check out laptops upon request.

This new policy follows the implementation of a similar checkout system in Spokane middle schools last year. The district aims to reduce replacement and repair costs by limiting the number of laptops in use at any given time.

The superintendent emphasized that this strategy will help manage costs more effectively.
