SPOKANE, Wash. – As the Super Bowl approaches, Geno’s Pizza and Pub owners Jake and Emily are embracing their football rivalry. The couple, divided over the Seahawks and Patriots, have brought their competition to the kitchen.
The pizza they created reflects their fandoms. “We have four ingredients because that’s how many teams passed on Sam Darnold,” said Jake. “The chicken obviously because they’re the sea chickens.”
Emily explained her side of the pizza. “I put goat cheese on the Patriots side because Tom Brady’s number one is the Goat,” she said. “And red for the Patriots obviously.”
The playful rivalry includes a bet. “Whoever loses is going to be outside dancing in a pizza costume,” said Jake.
Geno’s Pizza and Pub plans to offer this special “rematch” pizza on Super Bowl Sunday. Fans can visit the restaurant to try it and join the fun.
