SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. – Washington State Representative Mike Volz (R-Spokane) announced he will not seek re-election to the State House in 2026.

Instead, he plans to focus on his role as Spokane County Treasurer, the 6th District representative said in a release.

Rep. Volz, a CPA and U.S. Army veteran, began his legislative service in 2017. He expressed gratitude to his constituents for their trust and support.

“It has been the honor of a lifetime to represent the incredible people of the 6th District,” Rep. Volz said. “I’ve always believed in putting the public first and working hard to make government more effective and less intrusive. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together, and I look forward to bringing that same commitment and accountability to the Spokane County Treasurer’s Office.”

Volz also encouraged potential candidates for his legislative seat, expressing confidence that the district will continue to be represented by strong, conservative leadership.
