SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane public schools have completed their initial round of lead testing, uncovering high lead levels in numerous water fixtures.
According to the Spokesman-Review, the Department of Health found 260 sinks and water fountains at 37 schools with lead levels exceeding five parts per billion.
Lancaster stated that all drinking fountains with lead levels above the legal limit have been turned off.
