Spokane prepares for ‘No Kings’ protest against Trump parade

SPOKANE, Wash. – As President Trump plans a military parade in Washington, D.C., protestors in Spokane are gearing up for a “No Kings” rally on Saturday, June 14.

The protest will begin at 4:00 p.m. at the Red Wagon in Riverfront Park, located at the corner of Spokane Falls Blvd and Washington Street, according to a release.

Participants are encouraged to bring signs and flags as they demonstrate against what they describe as authoritarianism.

Spokane Indivisible, the group organizing the event, emphasized the importance of peaceful protest.

“It is imperative that protesters remain peaceful,” the group stated, noting concerns about potential National Guard deployment as seen recently in Los Angeles.

The protest in Spokane is part of a nationwide movement, with more than 1,800 events planned across the country.

Protesters are advised to stay on sidewalks, use crosswalks legally and avoid obstructing traffic.

Spokane Indivisible encourages participants to commit to nonviolent action and be aware of their protest rights, the release said.

This event coincides with other local activities, including the Spokane Pride Parade and the Stonewall Rally, both also scheduled for June 14.
