SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Police Department has launched a new online platform offering community members access to crime statistics through user-friendly dashboards. The platform aims to enhance transparency and community engagement by providing updated daily data.
Chief Kevin Hall emphasized the importance of this initiative.
“The launch of our public-facing crime dashboard signifies an important step in SPD’s ongoing commitment to transparency. We aim to provide our community with clear, timely, and accessible information about the public safety issues that concern them,” Hall said.
Annelise Pietenpol, SPD Director of Crime Strategies and Analysis, highlighted the dashboard’s role in building community trust.
“The Spokane Police Department’s new public data dashboards are designed to promote transparency, strengthen community trust, and enhance accountability,” Pietenpol said.
Shawna Ernst, SPD Director of Analytics, Research and Technology, noted the department’s commitment to modern policing.
“The launch of this dashboard reflects our commitment to modern, data-driven policing and transparent reporting under the FBI’s National Incident-Based Reporting System,” Ernst said.
