
SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Fire Department is investigating a grass fire in People’s Park as suspicious after it was discovered and contained Monday morning.
Firefighters were dispatched to People’s Park at 10:17 a.m. after receiving reports of a grass fire near the parking lot. The Washington State Department of Natural Resources also responded to the scene. The fire was 100 square feet when firefighters arrived, and it was fully controlled within 20 minutes.
Witnesses reported seeing a man in his mid-60s to mid-70s driving an orange sedan nearby at the time of the fire. Anyone with more information should call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233.
