SPOKANE, Wash. – Police Chief Kevin Hall addressed the Spokane City Council’s Public Safety Committee, emphasizing the department’s non-involvement with federal ICE operations.
Hall stated that the Spokane Police Department (SPD) strictly avoids assisting ICE agents, highlighting that it is illegal for them to do so.
He clarified that any call made to police regarding someone’s immigration status would be immediately dismissed. This statement came after a social media post alleged that police officers were seen assisting in an ICE operation.
Hall reinforced that officers participating in immigration operations would face criminal consequences and risk losing their jobs.
