SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane’s new street outreach teams are making significant headway in addressing the city’s homeless encampments.
Over a week and a half, the teams cleared 96 encampments. The majority of people contacted were directed toward health or housing services.
These encampments were scattered throughout the city, with large groups near downtown and along East Sprague Avenue.
The city noted that the teams have a presence across all quadrants of Spokane.
Starting next week, Spokane 3-1-1 will launch a new reporting feature to request dispatch of the outreach teams.
