SPOKANE, Wash. – As the 4th of July approaches, Spokane Regional Emergency Communications (SREC) is urging residents to report nuisance fireworks in a way that keeps emergency lines clear.

Starting today and continuing through midnight on July 6, residents can report illegal or disruptive fireworks using the free Shrek mobile app or by visiting spokane911.com.

Officials from SREC emphasized the importance of using these methods to ensure 911 lines remain available for real emergencies such as fires or injuries.

Reporting through the app or website ensures nuisance reports reach the appropriate local agencies efficiently.

The app, SREC 9-1-1, is available for download on the Apple Store and Google Play.
