Spokane moving forward with park bathroom renovations paid for through Together Spokane initiative

SPOKANE, Wash – The City of Spokane is moving forward with plans to renovate bathrooms in city parks, promised to voters through the Together Spokane initiative.

Spokane Parks identified bathroom renovations as a priority for people, saying a survey showed seven in 10 people considered the lack of consistent restroom access and quality a problem.

The voter-approved plan promises to replace half of all park restrooms citywide and renovate the rest.

The city will prioritize bathrooms based on their condition.

This week, the Spokane Park Board land committee is considering the first of those projects: renovating bathrooms at B.A. Clark Park in north Spokane.

Clark Park will be the first of up to five restroom facilities that would begin this year, but may not be done until 2027.

Other parks in the first phase of restroom renovations are Westgate Park, Friendship Park, Camp Sekani and the Southeast Sports Complex.

B.A. Clark Park was established in 1937 and is at Normandie and Division.

Plans for the renovations are laid out in this agenda
