SPOKANE, Wash. – Mayor Lisa Brown addressed the community on Friday, following the death of Renee Nicole Macklin Good, who was shot and killed by an ICE agent in Minneapolis on Wednesday morning.
“I’m incredibly upset by the killing of Renee Nicole Good,” Mayor Brown said. “The consequences of unchecked federal government power are playing out on the streets of our cities and undermining trust in the institutions of our democracy.”
Mayor Brown urged residents to seek community support during this time.
“Whatever your perspective and however you are feeling, I encourage you to seek out reliable sources of information, draw strength from loved ones, and pull together as a community according to your convictions,” she said.
