SPOKANE, Wash. – Elisha S. Marsh, 57, was sentenced on Friday to nearly 16 years to life in prison for sexually assaulting a child relative. Marsh pleaded guilty to three counts of rape of a child in October.
Court documents revealed that the victim’s father found Marsh on a bed with the 11-year-old girl on November 29, 2024. The victim told her father that Marsh had been abusing her for about a year and had urged her to keep it a secret.
Judge Michelle Szambelan sentenced Marsh to 189 months to life in prison. The Spokane County Prosecuting Attorney emphasized that this sentence spared the victim from testifying at trial.
Additionally, the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office stated that Marsh will face a lifetime of community custody and must register as a sex offender for life. Judge Szambelan issued a lifetime sexual assault protection order for the victim.
