SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane International Airport (GEG) will close its primary runway for routine maintenance, resulting in increased air traffic over South Hill neighborhoods.
According to airport officials, the runway will be closed Monday and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. During that time, the airport will use its east- and west-oriented runway for arrivals and departures.
The temporary change will lead to a brief uptick in air traffic over South Hill, GEG said.
The closures will allow crews to perform routine airfield maintenance required to maintain compliance with Federal Aviation Administration standards. The work is not expected to affect commercial or cargo flights or passenger boarding operations.
