The fire is no longer a threat to people or property, according to a spokesperson from the Spokane Fire Department who talked to NonStop Local while on the scene.
The fire did not cause a lot of damage, they said. The cars were actually next to the shed, not inside the shed, they added.
The fire was started by smoke caused by plastics and debris in the car. The car was damaged by the fire.
The fire was called in at 9:14 a.m. and the Spokane Fire Department made arrived at the scene at 9:19 a.m. The fire was knocked down by 9:21 a.m., said the spokesperson.
SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Fire Department is responding to a structure fire in the West Central area.
The fire is at West Dean Avenue and North Nettleton Street.
The fire battalion chief at the scene told NonStop Local that nobody was injured during the incident.
He said that the fire started in the detached garage, which had a couple of cars inside of it.
The response is being pared down, he said, but the department expected to be on the scene for another 30 to 40 minutes.
