SPOKANE, Wash. – As the New Year begins, Spokane Regional Emergency Communications (SREC) is sharing valuable tips to improve 911 call efficiency, helping first responders reach you faster.

SREC advises residents to be aware of their location. This includes knowing your address, nearby landmarks or mile markers.

SREC also recommends staying on the line and answering all questions the officer asks.

Lastly, SREC emphasizes using 911 strictly for emergencies, particularly life-threatening or “in progress” situations.

SREC says incorporating these small resolutions can make a significant difference when every second counts.
