SPOKANE, Wash. – Preston Meyskens, 27, has been sentenced to two years on a charge of child molestation in the third degree following a jury trial.
Meyskens was originally charged with three counts of rape of a child in the third degree but a mistrial was declared during proceedings last November and those charges were dismissed by the court.
The court said it found substantial reasons for an exceptional sentence above the standard range due to aggravating factors identified by the jury.
The judge also imposed three years of community custody and barred Meyskens from having contact with the victim.
Myskens was employed at a group home in Spokane last year when allegations of rape against a 14-year-old girl arose.
Court records said the abuse occurred over the span of a few days in late April 2025.
