SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — Spokane County voters have just over a week left to return their ballots for the 2025 primary election, which takes place Tuesday, Aug. 5.
Ballots were mailed to registered voters between July 16 and 18, according to the Spokane County Elections Office. Voters who have not yet registered can do so online or by mail through Monday, July 28. After that deadline, in-person registration is available until 8 p.m. on Election Day.
Spokane County Auditor Vicky Dalton encouraged voters to research the candidates and issues before casting their ballots.
“Voters need to remember that an election is their voice in selecting their government representatives,” Dalton said. “When you get your ballot, study the issues, study the candidates and make an informed decision. And if you’re not comfortable making a choice in a race, you don’t have to mark that race. We actually have people who return completely blank ballots, and that’s just fine. But do your homework…mark your ballot, get it in the envelope, sign it, and return it, either by drop box or mail, on time.”
Ballots must be returned or postmarked by 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5. Drop boxes are open across the county, and voters do not need postage to use them.
