
MEAD, Wash. – Spokane County Fire District 9 will host its annual Demo Day on Saturday, June 7. The free, family-friendly event offers a unique opportunity to watch live fire and rescue demonstrations.
According to the fire district, the event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the training center located at 3801 East Farwell Road.
Attendees can explore fire trucks and enjoy food from local vendors, including 509 Dine and The Cuban Way food trucks. Have Beans Espresso, Kona Ice and Black Fire Kettle Corn will also be on-site.
Children can participate in the Junior Firefighter Challenge Course, try on firefighter gear and learn how to use a fire extinguisher. More than 50 community organizations will have displays and provide information.
Visitors will also have the chance to learn “Hands-Only” CPR and take photos with Smokey Bear. The event encourages the public to meet local firefighters, view fire apparatus and observe demonstrations that showcase the challenging situations firefighters face each day.
