SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) deputies arrested a 17-year-old burglary and vehicle prowling suspect near N. Country Homes Blvd. and W. Excell Drive, SCSO said in a release.

Deputies responding to a residential burglary report on June 8 said they located the teen and arrested him after a short foot pursuit.

The suspect, a reported runaway, was searched. Deputies said they found items linked to a previous vehicle theft, including credit cards and a key fob.

A second victim reported her purse stolen from her car earlier that day. Her belongings were later found scattered in Lynnwood Park. The key fob in the suspect’s pocket matched her car, SCSO said in the release.

After receiving medical attention, the suspect was booked into the Spokane County Juvenile Detention Center.

Charges include residential burglary, attempted theft, vehicle prowling, second-degree theft and obstructing law enforcement.
