SPOKANE, Wash. – Two films with Spokane ties were selected by the Library of Congress for eternal preservation in the National Film Registry.

Bing Crosby’s 1954 Christmas classic “White Christmas” and Disney’s 2004 animated family superhero hit “The Incredibles” were amongst the 25 movies chosen to be added to the Film Registry.

Bing Crosby moved to Spokane when he was 3, attended Gonzaga High School and enrolled in Gonzaga University. The Bing Crosby Theater, where he performed multiple times, is named after him.

Craig Nelson, the voice of Mr. Incredible, is also a Spokane native and attended Lewis and Clark high school.

Other films inducted into the Film Registry recently include “Clueless”, “Inception”, “The Karate Kid” and “The Thing.”
