
SPOKANE, Wash. – Community members from across the city gathered at the Shadle Park Library on Saturday to celebrate the Vietnamese Lunar New Year, known as “Tết.”
The event began with a prayer, national anthems and an ancestral tribute. Continuing the celebration, there was a presentation describing Vietnamese New Year traditions, an exchange of good luck money to children and a traditional lion dance. Attendees also enjoyed a buffet as part of the festivities.
This year’s celebration marks the Year of the Horse, symbolizing strength, speed and vitality.
