Spokane Co. Sheriff’s Office releases more information on Medical Lake shooting

UPDATE, Feb. 2 at 10:49 am:

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office has shared more information on a shooting in Medical Lake that sent one to the hospital.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded around 3:25 pm to a home on S. Jefferson St. where caller reported his roommate had shot him.

On scene, the roommate reportedly appeared intoxicated and tossed a silver revolver on the ground.

Deputies detained him and secured the loaded gun.

Inside the home, the victim was found sitting on the floor, bleeding from what appeared to be a gunshot wound from his upper left torso.

First aid was rendered and the victim was taken to the hospital for additional medical care.

The sheriff’s office reports that at the last check, the victim was in serious but stable condition.

Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Detectives and Forensic Unit personnel were called to the scene to investigate.

Initial information reportedly shows the two roommates were fighting before the suspect left to get a pistol and came back to shoot the victim.

The suspect has been transported and booked into the Spokane County Jail.

The investigation is still ongoing.

MEDICAL LAKE, Wash. — A shooting was reported this afternoon along South Jefferson Street in Medical Lake. The call came in shortly before 3:30 p.m.

Details are limited at this time, but detectives have confirmed that the confrontation was related to money.

The victim is in critical but stable condition.
