Spokane City Council seeks applicants for District 2 vacancy

SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane City Council is preparing to fill an expected vacancy for District 2, Position 2 following .

The application period opens on May 23. Applications will be available on the City’s website, at the City Council offices on the 7th Floor of City Hall, and the MySpokane service desk on the 1st Floor of City Hall.

Applicants must submit their applications to the City Clerk’s office by 5 p.m. on June 19.

The council plans to interview applicants on July 10. These interviews will be held during a publicly noticed Council meeting open to the public.

A public hearing will take place on July 14 during a regular legislative session, allowing public testimony regarding potential candidates.

The City Council aims to vote on the new appointee in an open session on July 28.

Applicants must have resided in District 2 since at least July 28, 2024. The appointee will serve approximately four months until the election for the seat is certified.
