Spokane City Council mulls new meeting time for better engagement

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane City Council is considering changing its long-standing meeting time from Mondays at 6:00 p.m. to enhance community engagement and transparency, the city announced in a release.

The potential change aims to avoid conflicts with Monday holidays, provide midweek scheduling flexibility and boost participation opportunities for residents, especially parents and caregivers.

Residents are encouraged to share their input via email at citycouncil2@spokanecity.org or during the upcoming February 23 city council legislative meeting.
